Pineville Relocation

Pineville, KY - 1.4 square miles of land between Pine Mountain and the Cumberland River.

Population ~2100, plus the four of us.

Pineville's claim to fame: the Mountain Laurel Festival
The oldest continuous event of its kind in the United States (now in its 81st year).

Another quirky thing about Pineville: Chained Rock

Our home can be seen while standing atop chained rock. Whew! We'd be right in the path of that boulder if it fell off! Thank goodness that chain's there.

Chained Rock Sign
Kentucky's first state park, Pine Mountain State Park, is the sight of the Chained Rock.
The trail to Chained Rock is about 1/2 mile each way and is a little rough. We often go up to the overlook to watch the sunset over our sleepy little town.
